With the contributing artists, composers, producers, and organizing committee members scattered across the globe we have operated via FTP and special digital collaboration tools as well as by teleconferencing and the email. The songs on this album are of diverse styles and genres, a sampling of the passions and inspirations of Baha'is around the globe.
In the first phase of the project, composers electronically submitted rough demos of song ideas. The organizing committee then selected songs to develop for the project based on quality of songwriting, diversity of style, and priority for memorization. In the second phase, each song was adopted by one of three producers who took responsibility for arranging, recording, and mixing the song in consultation with the composer, using the talents of various additonal artists as deemed appropriate.
Many of the songs have been recorded using virtual collaboration, with different parts of the songs recorded in studios thousands of miles away from each other. After the songs were finished, a second selection determined which songs will appear on the CD, taking into account diversity of style for widest appeal. Songs that did not make it to the CD are planned to be available for purchase electronically through Divine Notes. We hope that study circle participants will fined these tracks enjoyable and helpful for memorization in the Institute Process as well as adding extra creative stimulation for study and enjoyment. The songs on the album are also available on iTunes.
45 musicians, producers and composers have contributed their talents to the project to date. Among the musical styles submitted were: Rock, Electronica, Folk, Hammer Dulcimer, Alernative Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, New Age, African Drums, Chorale and more! Twenty tracks of original music for the Creative Word of Baha'u'llah.
